Latin America is aging rapidly. Is the region ready to care for millions of older adults? Data reveal a sector with enormous potential.<\/span><\/p>

We analyzed 339 Silver Economy organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean, companies and projects that offer goods and services to improve the quality of life of older people, to understand who they are, how they operate and what holds them back.<\/span><\/p>

The ecosystem has distinctive characteristics: young leadership, gender parity\u2014with women holding 51.9% of executive positions\u2014and a high level of education, with 61% of leaders holding postgraduate degrees. We also find solid, committed teams: more than half of the projects have formal boards of directors, 81% have at least two partners, and 7 out of 10 entrepreneurs work full-time. Furthermore, 81.4% design their services specifically with the needs of older adults in mind.<\/span><\/p>

However, the sector faces a key challenge: only 11.2% has received significant external investment. Planning rarely extends beyond the short term, and labor informality remains high. The sector's potential has not yet translated into the capital or management capabilities needed to scale.<\/span><\/p>
